Dragon Naturally Speaking Review – Is It Easy To Use?

To be honest, if you’ve never ever used Dragon before, you’ll find that it’s not that easy to create an article. However, if you spend a few minutes figuring out how it works, you will have almost no problems using it. I will become easier and easier each day.

Usually, it takes about 30-90 minutes to get used to it. Also, it is highly recommended that you actually spend some time training Dragon, this voice recognition tool, especially if you are not from the U.S., because it was created to recognize that kind of accent.

However, with the latest versions, if you spend some time training it, it’s not a big problem at all anymore.

Hey, English is not actually my first language, but it does the job. In the past with some older versions, it did not. But the newer versions have almost no problems recognizing my voice, which is pretty cool.

Well, to be honest, it varies a lot. Sometimes I get 99% accuracy rate, sometimes just 96%, which is not bad. But, remember that English is not my first language and if you are from the United Kingdom or from the United States, the accuracy rate should be very high. I guess it should be around 98.5%.

Now, you may ask me, why does sometimes Dragon Naturally Speaking Software not recognize my voice? Well, the reason is actually very simple. Very often, it won’t recognize such words as “Ice Cream”. Why? Because this voice recognition tool will think that you said “I scream”, which is a completely different word.

I hope that you understand why the accuracy rate can’t be 100%, even if your voice is very clear.

So that’s really the biggest con that I have for this. Sometimes it does not recognize the words that I want to say. But, it’s not a big problem, as it still increases my speed of writing by at least 100%, which is a lot.

Some people say that when they started using Dragon Naturally Speaking software, their speed of writing increased by 200% – 300%, which is amazing.

Of course, you will need to spend a few hours training it, but that’s not a big problem, as after that your speed of writing will probably increase by 100% or even more, in some cases.
